Job Description

The CompanyOur client is a complex and expanding engineering business seeking to recruit a Procurement Manager.The RoleKey responsibilities for the Procurement Manager will include:

  • Managing and mentoring a small team, including stores
  • Devising Procurement strategy and implementing procurement best practice from scratch including systems and contracts registers
  • Key areas of spend - Capex, subcontract, MRO and consumables
  • Central point of contact for all procurement activity on site - supporting senior stakeholders including Commercialand Operations
  • Sourcing as per project requirements, negotiating new contracts, implementing SLAs
  • Supplier performance/contract management and audits, risk management and -mitigation
About YouThe ideal Procurement Manager:
  • Proven track record in performingbothhands-on and strategic level Procurement Lead roles
  • Career experience from within engineering, O&G, defence and/or project-based sectors beneficial
  • Able to demonstrate strengths in managing Capex and subcontract procurement essential
  • Be accustomed to blank-canvas, project-basedprocurement with limited systems
  • Will have excellent contract negotiation/-management skills
  • Be commercially astute, proactive and assertive
  • Have clear strengths in supplier management and stakeholder engagement - confident to challenge the status quo, able to influence and build relationships with ease
  • Resilient, accustomed to working at pace in an environment with changing priorities and requirements
  • Able to work 5 days per week on site
