Projects.As a Senior Accessibility Specialist, you will manage the Microsoft 365 products which all our colleagues use every day to work together, stay connected and to help the millions of people who use DWP services.Simply, your role as our Senior Accessibility Specialist is to ensure these tools work for everyone.Day to day you will:

  • Lead on delivering our Collaboration and Communication accessibility strategy with the aim of improving the accessibility, ease of access and legislative compliance of our M365 services.
  • Manage, support and co-ordinate a team of Accessibility Specialists, overseeing and completing assurance activities such as accessibility reviews, audits and assistive technology testing.
  • Create, maintain and disseminate guidance, and best practice on M365 accessibility, acting as an expert consultant and driving corporate understanding across a wide range of teams and stakeholders.
  • Build capability across DWP by developing and delivering end user training on a range of M365 accessibility and digital inclusion topics such as how to run inclusive meetings and create accessible content
What skills, knowledge and experience will you need
  • Lead Criteria: Microsoft 365. You will be a subject matter expert in Microsoft 365 technology, specifically in relation to accessibility / ease of access, and able to use your knowledge experience to identify fixes, define guidance and best practice anddrive product compliance.
  • You can interpret the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and other good practices and apply them to web pages and other formats such as apps and electronic/printed documents.
  • You have experience of engaging with senior stakeholders to help manage and mitigate against accessibility related risks and reputational damage, and create a culture accessibility across all products and services.
  • You understand and identify the role of technology in public service delivery and policy implementations including accessibility needs.
