Job Description

Head of Infrastructure This is an opportunity for a senior infrastructure management professional, confident managing large teams in delivering the full breadth of IT infrastructure operations.This is a large organisation where you will be required to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders, helping to ensure reliability, availability and service excellence. You will be responsible for the day to day operational functions of the infrastructure department, along with supporting project teams in delivering new technologies and transitioning into service.The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience managing large infrastructure operations teams, across a diverse portfolio of technologies
  • Experience within cloud services environments, utilising Azure and/or AWS
  • Experience of modern digital workplace technologies including Office 365, MS Teams, SharePoint etc
  • Experience of major, complex multi-site networking, ideally using SDWAN
  • Understanding of Security Strategies; ensuring initiatives are implemented, maintained and adhered to.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and influence teams, provide direction and driving cultural change
  • Previous accountability for operational stability of enterprise infrastructure, providing input to problem management and accountable for remedial action
  • Strong commercial skills, with experience of negotiating major contracts and strategic 3rd party/vendor management
  • Strong understanding of ITSM best practices (ITIL).
  • Confidence in managing budgets in the multi-millions
  • Able to manage stakeholders with changing priorities and contribute to strategy, roadmap and projects
  • Strong resource management; balancing strong operational/BAU excellence and project resource.
  • Modern call centre technology experience would be beneficial
  • There is a rate of offer of £550- £750 p/d depending on experience (inside IR35), and you must be available to start in mid-December. The base location Newcastle, although you’ll be working remotely initially (Coronavirus) Required skills
