Job Description

Role: Accounts Assistant Revenue Location: Quorum Business Park, Longbenton (possible hybrid working)Duration: Permanent roleHours: Full time (Mon-Fri 9-5pm) with some flexibility for the right candidateSalary: £22k-£25k dependent upon experience + fantastic benefits package which include:

My client is an award-winning hospitality business established in the Northumberland in 2006 now located throughout Yorkshire, Tyne & Wear, County Durham & the Lake District.Due to continued expansion, there have been a number of new and exciting career opportunities created to come and join the finance department. Working as part of a close-knit team, the department plays a critical role in helping to manage the 30+ sites thebusiness now operates. We have an opportunity for someone to join the Revenue section of the Finance Team, with the possibility of some cross over into the other finance teams.Key responsibilities will include:
  • Being assigned a number of sites to look after and own in terms of their sales information and reconciliations
  • Weekly entry of sales data into Sage200 from Zonal (the till system)
  • Weekly reconciliations of PDQ, online and other methods of payments
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Problem solving when variances arise
  • Weekly input and reconciliation of bank statements
  • Posting weekly cash expenses
  • Communication with the General Managers of Sites and the Operations Managers as needed for your sites
  • Assist with month end tasks as required such as stock, accruals etc
  • Other ad hoc duties as required
Key qualities & experience required include:
  • Hospitality/accounts background desired, working front of house basis
  • Previous accounting experience, preferably with or studying for AAT or equivalent/experience based
  • Understanding and experience of using till systems
  • Reconciliation experience for balance sheet accounts
  • Ability to work as part of an effective team with flexible approach
  • Initiative-taking with an aptitude to accept responsibility for own learning and development
  • Organised with the ability to prioritise and multitask due to high volumes of work and tight deadlines
  • Meticulous and accurate with impeccable diligence
  • A confident communicator with a good telephone manner and able to build relationships with suppliers and stakeholders alike
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong customer focus and a passion for quality service delivery
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with Sage 200 and/or EPOS systems would be an advantage but not essential.
