Job Description

The BusinessNigel Wright are delighted to be partnering exclusively with Newcastle International Airport as they look to appoint an Assistant Accountant within their Finance team in Woolsington (Newcastle International Airport)This is a newly created role within their existing, hardworking Finance function, sitting alongside two other Assistant Accountants and reporting into the Finance Manager. The role is varied, and will allow the successful candidate to gain exposure to differentareas of responsibility including Management Accounting, Finance Business Partnering and Financial Control.The RoleThis is a varied role, with responsibilities covering several different areas. Youll work as a team, and duties will include the following:

  • Month-end close - including prepayments, accruals and preparing reports and reconciliations
  • Finance business partnering, leading P&L reviews with departmental managers
  • Audit support - assisting Finance Manager with any necessary requirements
  • Assisting with preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Accurate transactional finance duties and VAT returns
About You...
  • Experience with SAP (or other ERP system) would be very beneficial.
  • Strong Excel knowledge and capability required.
  • Proven experience in dealing with a range of accounting and finance tasks.
  • Ideally AAT qualified or qualified by experience.
  • The role suits an experienced, reliable all-rounder who would enjoy working in a small and busy accounts department.
  • Theyre looking for a confident, pro-active, organised, hands-on person with the ability to work independently.
  • Must be a good communicator and be comfortable providing financial support to non-finance colleagues.
