Job Description

As Financial Accounting & Reporting Manager youll manage the deliveryof the statutory financial statements and the annual audit process in consultation with the Department for Transport and National Audit Office. The Financial Accounting & Reporting Manager also helps to ensure the integrity of the general ledger, supportswith maintaining appropriate financial accounting policies and ensuring that systems are fit for purpose.What youll be leading on

  • You will manage the production and reporting of the periodic financial accounts, including year end statutory accounts, in a consistent and timely manner
  • Producing the quarterly/annual submissions for the Department for Transport, including debt recoverability and debtor and creditors reconciliations
  • Work closely with the external auditors during the interim and year end audits
  • Review and assess financial accounting policies and ensure compliance, providing advice and guidance on the effective and consistent implementation of systems, policies, processes and tools
  • Build and maintain effective and open relationships with Finance Business Partners and other stakeholders at all levels across the organisation, providing professional advice and support to ensure efficient and quality financial reporting
  • Manage the general ledger processes including supporting with tasks/projects as and when required people management
To be successful
  • Part / Fully qualified accountant with a relevant up-to-date membership of a recognised professional body such as ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA or CIPFA
  • Technical knowledge of IFRS and FReM and the differences thereof
  • Experience in financial accounting roles, including consolidation functions, in a large organisation
  • In depth knowledge of standard accounting systems
  • Strong track record of delivering outcomes and achievements in a customer focused organisation
  • Good IT skills
