Job Description

Your new roleHere at National Highways we are striving for excellence so if youre looking for a new opportunity to be a part of a high performing team in a progressive organisation please see below!The role of a Business Support Manager is to provide analytical support within the Directorate, helping to shape the future and direction of the decision support tools National Highways use for managing the conditions of our assets. You will support investmentdecisions and deliver analytical capability and commentary to our business through sophisticated modelling and utilizing technological solutions to enable long term asset investment decisions to be made as part of business Asset Management Strategy.What youll be leading on

  • Report Divisional and Directorate asset performance information, including Key Performance Indicators, providing accurate and timely inputs of data. Producing reports that are fit for purpose, consumable and intelligent.
  • Producing analyses of complex data sets, either ad-hoc or regular, to support the asset management principles within National Highways.
  • Provide operational support to the Division including the development of modelling tools to predict the future performance of our assets and inform investment decision projects. Building internal capability and knowledge.
  • Engagement with operational colleagues to enhance understanding of systems and analysis. Managing and developing projects to satisfy asset data requirements and support on complex business case requirements.
To be successful
  • Knowledge and understanding of asset management principles
  • Relevant work experience in a data focused role
  • An analytical thinker with advanced Excel skills. An understanding and awareness of PowerBI with the ability to manipulate and analyse large and complex data-sets in data visualization tools.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels and present recommendations with insight and impact
  • Experience of working in a project/programme environment, supporting or leading on projects using established principles
  • Experience of using modelling/analysis tools to derive results and tell a story
