Mental Health Support Worker£20,500 - £22,077 per annumLeicestershire based at MountsorrelHours: 1x 30, 3x 37.5Closing Date: 18th AprilOur client has a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join their friendly and supportive Care & Support team as a Mental Health Support Worker.The purpose for wellbeing recovery serviceTheir service helps anyone aged 18+ who is experiencing emotional and mental health problems, as well as their carers, by providing advice, information and support. They can help you to maintain and improve your emotional and mental wellbeing, become empoweredto achieve your goals, and to live a meaningful and valued life within the community.The services they offer:

  • Information, advice and guidance: They will offer information and advice to enable you to learn about mental health and wellbeing services in your local community exploring options available together to find what is right for you.
  • They will also discuss coping strategies and offer advice on things like benefits or relationships which are affecting your personal wellbeing. They run regular pop-up/drop-in information and advice sessions around your local area.
  • One-to-one support with a trained MH Support Worker, who will listen to you and work with you to improve your mental health and achieve your personal goals.
  • Various support groups to help you learn, gain skills, and build peer support networks to enable you to live life to the full and take part in activities and opportunities along with everyone else.
  • Their aim is to deliver a professional service by providing support and care for service users with mental health conditions. The Support Worker role is to deliver a range of recovery focussed interventions to maximise individual and community assets topromote social inclusion, recovery, wellbeing and independence. Additionally, supporting individuals who require assistance to access day services, employment, education and training opportunities in line with the service level agreement. To support the managementteam to manage and develop the service in line with the requirements of their quality standards, quality and regulatory frameworks and contracted Service Level Agreements.
Spreading the support!As a community based service they operate across Charnwood, Melton Mowbray, Market Harborough, Oadby & Wigston, Blaby, Hinckley & Bosworth and North West Leicestershire and they are looking for people to support their communities.What they need from you!
  • Candidates must have experience and knowledge of mental health needs, housing and benefit related issues and an awareness of drug and alcohol related needs, supporting agencies and evidence based reduction/recovery interventions.
  • You will also need a solid understanding of local resources, be able to work effectively on your own, be confident in communication skills, have networking experience, relationship building and a desire to help people work to their strengths and maximisetheir futures.
  • As this a floating support role, a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for the role. You will be reimbursed for mileage costs.
