Job Description

Hours: 40 hours a week, 8:30am-5pmContract: PermanentSalary: £20,000 per annumLocation: Redditch, B98 9PBOur Client:Our client is looking for a cleaner to join their friendly team based in Worcester. They use proven agritech in an innovative and unique way, growing crops in environments where they will consistently thrive and produce significantly higher yields whileusing fewer natural resources.The successful candidate will perform a crucial role in ensuring the hygiene standards of the pilot vertical farming system at Redditch are maintained to the highest standard, and that the site is in a safe and functioning condition, passing all testingand complying with all related legislation and accreditation criteria.Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out regular daily and weekly cleaning tasks both on the site itself and on the equipment used in the farming operation
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance/quality control and Health & Safety standards of the organisation as per the company handbook
  • Carry out regular daily and weekly maintenance of growing equipment, tools and facilities
  • Cleaning of site including floors, toilets (not bowls), fridges, bins, small yard area
  • Cleaning of growing equipment and parts of the farm irrigation system
  • Completing weekly audits for site health and safety and water meter readings
  • Ensuring all cleaning by themselves is to the highest standard and passes our weekly microbial testing
  • Working with the wider growing team to ensure the priority of daily tasks is altered to suit the day ahead functions
  • Weekly stock control audits of the equipment, growing ingredients and fertiliser stock levels.
Person Specification:
  • Proactive, flexible and works well as part of a team
  • Appreciation and respect for scientific process and control points
  • Good time management in completing the days task list
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Good basic understanding of food safety and health and safety
  • Previous cleaning experience in a horticultural, science or food environment desirable but not essential
  • Any qualifications that demonstrate food safety, health and safety and COSHH are desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
