Job Description

Overview and Responsibilities Lead Maths Teacher, Aurora Brambles Location: Midge Hall, near Leyland, LancashireSalary: M1 - UPS2 plus Expert payment of £1,500 per annum in addition to current salaryHours: 40 hours per weekTerm Time OnlyThe Aurora GroupThe Aurora Group is an innovative provider of education and care for children, young people and adults with special educational needs and disabilities.Lead Teacher - Maths, Numeracy, Careers & Exams focusKey duties in addition to current role:Lead, organise, and coordinate mathematics within the whole school.Manage and lead relevant approaches and subject information including assessment of progress in Mathematics, careers and examsDevelop maths as a specialist and successful dimension of the academic curriculum offer; reflected by improved progress and outcomes for all pupils.Provide relevant progress and teaching/learning quality information to SLT as requiredSkills and Qualifications Qualifications:

  • PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
  • Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with SEN, SLD/PMLD and ASD
  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate
  • Experience of successfully delivering a differentiated curriculum to students with a wide range of needs.
  • Experience of working in a therapeutic environment
