Transport Operations Manager - Vehicle Transportation & DeliverySalary: from £45,000kpa DOEOverviewJX Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Transport Operations Manager for our client, a leading transport organisation based in Middlewich (CW10) on a full time, permanent basis working Monday - Friday. You will be an experienced TransportManager ideally from a car transportation background. The vehicle transportation operation is currently running up to 35 vehicles around the UK servicing well known manufacturing brands.The roleReporting to the depot manager, you will be responsible for the operational running of the vehicle transportation department ensuring smooth and cost-effective running of the division as well as overseeing a team of planners. You will provide strong leadershipacross the department. You will manage, direct, and monitor the transport service and overall performance of the department to maximise efficiency, service, performance, and profit making sure any issues are dealt with in the correct manner and keeping servicelevels at the high standard for customers.Duties of the role will involve:- Ensuring deadlines and customer expectations are met.- Develop and ensure the consistent application and execution of standard operating procedures to provide industry leading service and efficient processes in depot.- Organise and control all transport resources to ensure maximum efficiency through effective management of people, assets, costs and productivity- Monitor and control variable costs to ensure profit targets are met.- Proactively build and maintain a full up to date understanding of the business services and products.- Ensure pre brief & de briefings are undertaken at start of shift and end of shift for all transport movements.- Manage driver performance and compliance.- Ensure Confirmation all deliveries are completed for order bank management.- Ensure all other relevant information is recorded to manage and maintain KPIs- Ensure transport documentation and records are managed in line with relevant legislation in preparation for transport audits.- Investigate driver incident reports.- Undertake disciplinary investigations as and when required.- Manage health and safety within legal requirements.- Attend daily & weekly teams meetings to discuss performance, plans & targets for the network.- Be involved / able to produce business performance forecasts.- Oversee and manage the pool of drivers.- Travel offsite 1-2 times per month to see customers, drivers etc.Who are we looking for- Previous experience working as a Transport Manager within a car transportation organisation.- Transport Managers CPC- Transportation legislation- Knowledge of Health & Safety- Hardworking with a flexible approach and a can-do attitude.- Computer literateIn return you will receive:
