Job Description

Test Engineer required for my client based near to Middlewich.The client have an opportunity for an individual looking for careers in Test and Installation.The role of a Test and Installation Engineer involves performing a range of electronic, hardware and software tests to ensure an instrument is precisely tuned before running calibration standards. You will then visit customer sites to install the instrumentationon a worldwide basis providing post installation servicing where required.Test Engineer Position Overview

  • Following mechanical and electrical drawings to aid in assembly and test.
  • Execution of test procedures and maintenance routines.
  • Maintaining a database of test and installation progress and results.
  • Provide support to service department.
  • Review calibration of test instruments in compliance with quality assurance and customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot instruments and components find sources of error.
  • Visiting customer sites worldwide to install factory tested equipment and carry out service and preventative maintenance visits.
  • Training of customers on proper methods and techniques regarding instrument use.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of vacuum technology and the ability to perform helium leak detection.
  • Understand H&S implications and follow procedures necessary for safe working.
Test Engineer Position Requirements
  • Scientific or Engineering background necessary (Geology / Physics preferred)
  • Willingness to travel as companies installations are worldwide. These visits can last several weeks and can be frequent throughout the year.
  • Software experience in Magnetic Sector / Radio Mass Spectrometry is desirable.
  • A passion for travel, experiencing new places and people
  • Good communication and I.T skills will be required for training customers on instrument.
  • Commutable distance of Middlewich, Cheshire.
  • A full UK clean driving license.
Test Engineer Position Remuneration
  • Salary - dependent upon experience, skills and qualifications.
  • Full time position.
  • 28 days holiday package - including bank holidays.
