RECRUITMENTiQ are delighted to be working with a Global Chemical Solutions company, and they are seeking aNew Product Development Chemist based in Middlewich.They are a leading manufacturer of foam control agents and chemical specialities, they offer over 200 products including high performance lubricants, surface coatings, release agents, silicone emulsions and our unique Silstrip silicone remover.Theyve been manufacturing chemical solutions in Cheshire for over 30 years and supply customers across the globe with off-the-shelf products as well as bespoke solutions tailored to their unique requirements. At MPL and Pennwhite, innovation and customer focus are two guiding principles of researchand development efforts.To continue the success and expansion of this established business, a vacancy has arisen for a seasoned New Product Development Chemist in charge of the development of new products and applications. Based at our Middlewich site, the New Product DevelopmentChemist will play an active role in the design, development, and scaleup of New Product Innovations (NPI). This multi-faceted position will involve working across various technical disciplines and close collaboration with the Operations Department during thescale-up of new products/process optimisation. The NPDC will also provide technical support to our sales team and customers, as well as being involved in the process and management of the quality control of finished goods and the investigation of product non-conformities.Specific responsibilities include: Assist with designing and developing prototype products and formulations. Carry out application performance testing and customer support studies to allow benchmarking of NPIs and customer samples against current products. Assist with scale-up work and new product development programmes. Support Technical and Production departments by optimisingand streamlining the product portfolio. Carry out stability testing of NPI and newly scaled-up products to ensure product quality. Ensure all work is in compliance with the Quality Management System. Maintain accurate records of all work in, lab books, development and technical databases. Preparation and organisationof laboratory research and field trial data for the generation of internal reports, external communications, technical datasheets, and intellectual property.Provide technical support to customers, particularly with respectto problem- solving and product recommendations.Additional details:Reporting to PennWhites Technical Director, the successful candidate will ideally be educated to degree level or the appropriate academic qualifications and have extensive experience in a similar role, in particular in formulation and emulsion science. Youshould be highly motivated, committed and customer focused.
