Job Description

Material Engineers required on major Highways scheme in South Wales. Our client is the Tier 1 contractor on a £500million project, consisting of 18kms of new highway including multiple RC structures, retaining walls and culverts. Our client requires MaterialEngineers with both major highways and structures experience on a permanent basis. Our client is also willing to consider candidates who do not live within commuting distance and will provide an accommodation allowance to these employees.As Materials Engineer you will:

Be responsible for materials testing and materials processes, complying with relevant regulatory
Standards and requirements pertaining to the work programme.
Raise concerns/queries with the Material Manager.
Ensure that registers are updated with material test results.
Witness tests conducted by the laboratory.
Update and maintain records of concrete deliveries and pours on FieldView

Our client requires Materials Engineers with:

ONC/HNC/Degree qualified
Experience of working in a similar position within Civil Engineering
Experience of working on projects involving earthworks, drainage and concrete
CSCS card
Knowledge of recycled aggregate and imported aggregate

Salary/Benefits:

Up to £55,000 per annum
£6,500 car allowance
33 days holiday (includes bank holidays)
6% company pension scheme
£7,200 accommodation allowance for anyone living over 1.5hrs commute from the project
