Job Description

Payroll

  • Processing of weekly, fortnightly, 4-weekly and monthly payroll schemes including;
  • Processing of timesheets
  • Contacting employers for employee information
  • Processing of new starters and leavers
  • Holiday accruals for employers
  • Providing information on statutory leave (maternity, paternity, sickness, holiday etc), including claiming advanced payments, calculating eligibility and entitlement, implementing new rates and changes
  • Providing HR support for employers for employees
  • Sending all RTI submissions, including appropriate FPS and EPS submission
  • Monthly group RTI submission for Director only payrolls
  • PAYE registration for employers
  • Agent authority requests
  • Day to day payroll queries and questions
  • Pensions
  • Ensuring all employers are Automatic Enrolment compliant.
  • Set up of Pension schemes for employers if necessary
  • Completion of declarations of compliance with Pensions Regulator - keeping up to date records for all re-enrolments
  • Ensuring employers are meeting the legal obligations including contributions, payments
  • Processing pension deductions on each payroll (where applicable)
  • Uploading pension schedules to pension providers for each pay period
  • Supplying employers with all automatic enrolment communications and literature for new starters
  • CIS
  • Monthly CIS submissions for CIS registered employers
  • Collecting and collating payment amounts for each employer
  • Providing contractors with monthly pay and deduction statements (PDS) and annual statements at Year End
  • Verifying subcontractors for Contractors
  • Submitting CIS deductions for Contractors to HMRC in the form of EPS submissions
  • Advising on changes to schemes and scope and day to day queries and questions
  • Submitting CIS refund requests to HMRC, checking progress on said payments and verifying any information HMRC requests in relation
  • Agent authority requests
  • Furlough
  • Sound knowledge of furlough claims/calculations
  • General advice to clients
  • Other
  • Weekly invoicing for Rail Subcontractors (4-5 weekly) and email to appropriate agencies for payment
  • Applications for HMRC taxes when necessary
  • General admin e.g. emails / letters / telephone calls to clients and third parties e.g. HMRC etc, filing of role related paperwork, keeping records of works up to day, assisting in other ad-hoc duties when requested
  • Dealing with clients over the telephone and face to face
  • Continuation of requests to the Job Retention Scheme and ongoing advice and support to employers through this
