Job Description

Bewleys Tea & Coffee UK Ltd are one ofthe leading suppliers of hot beverage solutions to the foodservice sector. Bewleys UK offers nationwide sales and service support with coffee roasting capability at our roastery in Yorkshire.We have an exciting opportunity to join our Customer Support Team as a Training Manager responsible for the management of the UK Barista Team, coordinating the team member activities to ensure efficient use of their time, while delivering added value to bothBewleys and our customers.   • Motivate, manage and schedule the Barista teams training and auditing activities on a monthly basis in support of our customers. These will be proactive scheduled events or reactive actions based on audit results.
  • Support the commercial teams to deliver high quality coffee at customer pitches, tastings and trade events.
  • Represent Bewleys UK at SCA events throughout the year, showcasing the quality of the UK Barista team and building industry profile and credibility.
  • In conjunction with the Field Sales Manager, manage the Grumpy Mule task force to achieve set targets when carrying out Grumpy Mule blitz activity.
  • To be the main point of contact for the Barista training function for the UK business. Ensure that Coffee is at the forefront of the culture of the businesswork with the Barista Training team to identify and implement programs / information etc acrossall departments
  • To oversee the skillset of the training team, ensuring all members of the team are appropriately skilled.
  • Evaluate trainers performance and the effectiveness of training programmes, ensuring any improvements are implemented
  • To ensure that the Baristas are delivering coffee training programs to outlets in order to increase sales and add value to both Bewleys and the customer.
  • To ensure the training being offered to our customers is consistent and professional.
  • Ensure that all training documentation, audit records and day to day admin is captured and updated in a timely manner by the team.
  • Responsible for drafting, revising and implementing training programs as agreed with the team and customers, including SCA courses in head office training rooms.
  • As part of the Grumpy Mule task force deliver against the sales targets for new Grumpy Mule distribution points.
  • To support sales in the execution of joint account meetings and presentations with customers
  • Implement a Personal Development programme, in line with prescribed guidelines, for team members and creating succession planning ensuring a multi skilled workforce.

  • Desirable qualificationsSCA Barista and Brewing intermediate
  • Desirablebeing able to demonstrate active involvement over the past two years in SCA UK coffee competitions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Relevant training and management experience within a food service environment
