Job Description

Toolroom TechnicianMy client, a long term established and highly reputable Injection Moulding Manufacturer, is looking to recruit a Toolroom Technician, on a full time, days only, permanent basis.We are looking for a tooling expert, professional, efficient, meticulous, and self-motivated individual with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload.Role & Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Engineering Manager, based within the Toolroom.
  • Refurbishment, modification and servicing of mould tools.
  • Carry out all required maintenance and repair activities on 400+ different injection moulding tools onsite.
  • Complete and record all Total Preventative Maintenance checks.
  • Support the sales team with new projects, including advising on tooling improvements.
  • Fault finding, identify and complete corrective actions on tooling.
  • Monitoring tools in production to ensure they are running efficiently.
  • Maintain and develop the 5s principles and accustomed to working in that environment.
Required experience / qualifications:
  • Apprentice trained Mechanical Engineer / Toolmaker
  • Experience of maintaining tools for 22 to 800 ton presses
  • Experience of working within the Injection Moulding industry
  • Ability to work with mills, lathes, grinders.
  • Good Mechanical knowledge with tool assembly and diagnostics
  • Strong communication skills
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in an injection moulding toolroom.
  • NVQ Level 3 in engineering, ONC equivalent.
  • Overhead Crane Licence (preferred).
  • Excellent attention to detail.
