1st Line IT Support Technician

Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join our inhouse IT support team as our 1st Line IT Support TechnicianYour day-to-day activities will include:

  • Be the first point of contact for IT support within the business, via phone, email and using our Service Desk system
  • Responsible for handling support of service requests relating to workstations, printers, phones, mobiles, networks and vendor specific hardware and software
  • Maintain the Service desk incident logging system, recording appropriate information for the cause and resolution in order to identify common issues or recurring problems
  • Work as a team to manage the service desk ticketing system ensuring all queues are kept to a minimum. Supporting existing team members where required
  • Build the Service Desk Knowledgebase
  • Maintaining a high degree of customer service at all times
  • Assisting the IT department in any projects they are involved in
  • To maintain user and cyber security on all systems
  • Supporting users in the use of Computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice
  • To arrange for external support visits whenever problems cannot be resolved in house
  • To manage 3rd parties efficiently to ensure timely support and resolution for their services
  • Work with 2nd line as point of escalation
Key Skills:
  • Windows desktop administration and support
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems with emphasis on Windows 10 / Mac iOS
  • Knowledge of Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory, Group Policy and File Permissions
  • Experience creating and managing users and mailboxes in Office 365
  • Basic networking knowledge, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS
  • General Hardware support; Laptops, Printers, mobiles, desk phones
  • Experience with Service Desk ticketing system
