Job Description

Purchase Ledger / Finance Assistant - Temp - Perm ContractLocation: Marston Green, B37Hours of Work: Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5.00pmSalary: £11.28ph - £12.31ph (£22,000-£24,000pa) DOESUMMARYTo take control and centralise the purchase ledger and supplier based financial activity. You will be assisting the finance manager in daily financial entries to journals, communication with suppliers and resolution of disputes, authorisations and paymentruns. The role will be responsible for purchase ledger & information accurately flowing though the finance function. CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process invoices, reconciling delivery notes to invoices received and purchase orders.
  • Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details within the purchase ledger.
  • Query users for invoice approval and payment.
  • Assist with monthly PL payment run.
  • Escalate supplier e-mails/disputes to relevant users.
  • Journaling and data entry onto accounting software.
  • Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements.
  • Monthly aged creditors management.
  • Process business expense returns.
  • Cashbook and petty cash cheques.
  • Process staff fuel and mileage deductions/expenses.
  • Processing BACS payments and preparing cheques.
  • Record keeping filing/documentation.
  • Assist finance manager with other tasks in the accounting function.
Skills & Experience
  • AAT part qualified.
  • Bookkeeping experience (preferably 2 years)
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills
  • Self-discipline and initiative to work.
  • Good team working skills.
  • The ability to work to weekly/monthly deadlines.
  • An aptitude for IT - knowledge of software packages like Excel, Ms365 and BACS.
