Job Description

Looking for a new and exciting roleIf so, this is the perfect opportunity!I am currently supporting one of the UK leading specialists mortgage lenders in finding an In-house Solicitor!You will be responsible for providing legal advice to the business on a variety of matters.This is a very exciting role as every day will be different due to the different elements of the role.Key Aspects:

  • Being adaptable; being able to support as an all rounder solicitor with all aspects of legal
  • Confident working in a financial service environment
  • Ensuring and complying with AML regulations
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiation of different contracts including supplier agreements, commercial leases, technology contracts, software agreements, terms of contract etc.
  • Managing a caseload of disputes/litigation conducted by external solicitors
  • To provide legal guidance on individual cases/mortgage applications, standard business documentation, policy, procedures and risk management
  • To assist in managing relationships with panel solicitors
  • To support the business in its compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, providing advice and guidance on current and forthcoming changes in legislation, regulation and codes of practice
  • To work in collaboration with Compliance, Risk, Financial Crime, Servicing and other colleagues to ensure the consistent delivery of regulatory and legislative standards
  • To ensure the Company and other lenders on whose behalf it administers mortgage accounts are adequately protected in disputes and contractual relationships with customers and third parties
  • To act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly
