Job Description

Senior - principal RWE / epidemiologist, global pharmaceutical company, real world data, immunology, neuro Your new companyIs a leading global pharmaceutical company looking to bring in a Senior or Principal Epidemiologist to their RWE department to work on a wide range of studies across multiple therapy areas.This client has an excellent market reputation and a track record of innovation within this area.Your new roleYou will be joining an established team, taking responsibility for a number of RWE studies, utilising data to optimise approaches for the companys drug development portfolio and helping shape their research strategy. Overall you will be designing, carrying out and interpreting the real world data from studies and using this to optimise the approaches being taken by the company.This position can be partly home-based / remote.Other responsibilities will include:

  • Managing RWE prospective & retrospective observational studies, including design, protocol & SOP development and specifying study scope;
  • Provide technical expertise and interpreting study data;
  • Input into RWE strategies to effectively utilise real world data and assets;
  • Work in cross-functional teams, in combination with colleagues across departments such as Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Patient Safety and Clinical Development;
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders, including CROs and data providers;
  • Liaise with payers, regulatory authorities and policy makers;
  • Carrying out literature reviews, creating reports and analysis plans.
    • What youll need to succeedAs well as strong communication, problem solving and organisational skills you should have:following:
  • A track record of working on and/or leading epidemiology / observational research / real world studies, ideally across multiple countries or regions (with a preference for EU5 & US);
  • Experience with healthcare databases, eg THIN, CPRD;
  • At least an MSc (or equivalent) in statistics, epidemiology, health economics, outcomes / health policy research, or a related discipline - with a preference for a PhD;
  • Knowledge of study design and implementation for large-scale epidemiological / observational studies;
  • Experience working on immunology, neurology, inflammation or rare disease studies is an advantage;
  • The ability to relay information from real world studies to stakeholders;
  • A publication record would be an advantage.
