The Team consists of Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (also called School Nurses), Community Staff Nurses and School Health Screeners. Your tasks will be to play a key role in the delivery of the NHS Digital National Childhood Measurement Programme for reception and year 6 children, undertaking hearing and vision screening for children at school entry and you will be expected to work independently in schools under the supervision and guidance of the School Nurses. You will be expected to provide administrative support to the School Nursing Team in the planning and organisation of screening sessions within school settings. In addition to these duties, you will need to refer those who meet the criteria for follow up for audiology and orthoptists in accordance with local policy. You will also be expected to assist with data collection from the screening sessions and be able to input data onto our electronic systems within the School Nursing Service.
