Job Description

Planned Works Surveyor Permanent Opportunity via BRCJobs: Planned Works Surveyor Location: Berkshire Sector: Property and Housing Contract: Permanent Salary: £44,000 BRC are working with a housing Association in Berkshire who are looking to recruit for a surveyor to deliver planned maintenance projects and major repair improvement projectsMain Responsibilities:

  1. You will have project management responsibilities, overseeing planned maintenance projects and major repair & improvement projects
  2. Working with colleagues and wider asset team to procure contractors, writing & preparing specifications and contract documents for individual projects and programmes
  3. Provide costs and project information on a timely basis to allow section 20 requirements to be met in schemes with leaseholders
  4. Manage contracts including issuing orders, chairing progress meetings, authorizing payments and managing any delays to the programme that may occur
  5. Produce progress reports when required and exercise overall control of the project within its approved budget
  6. Manage customer complaints and queries
  7. Ensure that all statutory requirements are met, including Construction Design & Management regulations, and that Building Control and planning requirements are met when applicable
  8. The majority of these works will be planned however some tasks will arise such as unforeseen building damage requiring major repairs
  9. Work closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including contractors, consultants, building control and environmental health officers
Job Requirements
  • Full Driving Licence
  • HNC/HND - experience in building construction, building maintenance or project management
  • Experience of writing specifications and contract documents
  • Good technical understanding of residential structures and common building defects
