Job Description

Technical leadExcellent opportunity for a technical lead with experience in working within food chemistry testing laboratory!This is a permanent opportunity paying negotiable salary plus benefitsKenton Black Scientific is a recruitment partner to a food testing laboratory based in Cambridgeshire. They are looking to hire an experienced analytical lead to join their team who will be responsible for managing all the activities within a busy laboratory. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing a team of junior scientists
  • Act as the subject matter LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS and responsible for method development
  • Manage, mentor, coach and train a new team of analysts to provide them with the skillset and competencies
  • Provide technical expertise to others within the laboratory
  • You will be able to undertake all supervision, training and mentoring to other team members. You will be required to ensure analytical data conforms to quality standards.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Chemistry or equivalent
  • Proven industrial experience in LC-MS/MS
  • Excellent experience in working within high- throughput environment
  • Proven experience in managing large to medium teams is desired but not essential
  • Understanding of ISO, UKAS, audit procedures and methods.
  • Proven operational experience and team management within food testing environment is highly desired
  • Good laboratory skills and practices
  • Proven project management skills and experience, lean production principles
