At Select Hospitality Cambridge we are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Commis Chef.A department of Cambridge University is currently looking to recruit a Commis Chef to work within their Cambridge site. An excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and customer focused catering team working to produce and deliver excellent service to all staff,guests and visitors.You will prepare quality meals using predominantly fresh ingredients, normally under the guidance of a Sous Chef. A variety of different types of foods are prepared, including sandwiches and snacks, salads, formal meals and barbecues. You will be expected towork within a team continuously producing fresh, innovative and well-presented food.Experience and Skills required Basic Food Hygiene Certificate Some experience in a commercial kitchen Have a minimum of Level 2 NVQ food preparation or equivalent Creative and passionate about food preparation and service Good knowledge of HACCP and COSHH systems Good standards of spoken and written communication Effective interpersonal skills Accuracy and attention to detailSalary and Benefits My client is offering the successful Chef a salary between £20,130 - £23,067 all depending on experience You will be expected to work 5 variable days per week, with specific days determined by a rota system to cover the peak operational hours Monday to Sunday including a requirement to work split shifts.
