Summary Were looking for a cook to join the new team at the Buttery, our new cafe at Lorna Doone. If you have a passion for food and love to deliver great customer service then read on.We are offering flexible hours over the busy summer period between 30 - 37.5 hr pw, these will mainly be day shifts however some times working up to 7.30pm , when we expect many visitors to the famous Doone Valley - both visiting for the day and also staying close by at our campsite. No split shifts or late evenings. What its like to work here You will be based at Lorna Doone valley, surrounded by stunning countryside, which you will be helping to look after - our profit from the cafe goes directly towards the conservation of our National Trust land.You will be part of the newly formed catering team but also be in the wider North Devon team, as our countryside property has it all - stretching from rugged moorland to the sandy beaches at Croyde. What youll be doing With your passion for food and your appetite to provide an exceptional service to your customers, you’ll work with the National Trust Cookbook framework to prepare delicious food. Working with local produce youll always be looking for ways to minimise waste and control costs and resources. With your attention to detail you’ll ensure each dish is fresh, tasty and beautifully presented every time.As a key member of our busy Food & Beverage team, you’ll make sure the team is working effectively to deliver great results. You may also be required, on occasions to supervise volunteers.You’ll help the Food & Beverage team ensure our kitchens are presented to the highest standard and are compliant with all relevant legislation around food hygiene and COSHH.The National Trust ethos will always be at the forefront of your mind, and youll be proud to share our good work with our customers, you’ll look to maximise sales with new ideas so that the profit can be reinvested back into our conservation work.Please also read the full role profile, attached to this advert.
