Job Description

Elland, HalifaxFull time / permanentAverage 37.5 hours Shift times cover between 8:00am - 20:00pm Monday to Friday, 1 in every 4 Saturdays with a rotad day off in the weekUpto £18,500 dependant on skills and experience+ Excellent benefits including:Pensioncontribution matched up to 5%, Life Assurance (2 x basic salary), Free Headspace membership, Eye Test Vouchers, Access to Employee AssistanceProgramme, Access to training and professional qualifications.Our client are looking to recruit Claims Handlers to join their Property team in Elland. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for their of the Claims advisor will be to Respond to inbound calls from home emergency insurance customers,supporting the customer through the journey of their claim from initial notification to resolution which creates the potential to have a wide and varied role with opportunities for progression. Within the department there is an emphasis on proactive claimsmanagement skills, excellent Customer Service and the requirement to be able to handle claims across many schemes and Clients.customers. Experience is not necessary as full training is given. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Communicating professionally with a variety of people including customers, insurers, suppliers and colleagues around the country;
  • Composing professional and informative letters and other written correspondence;
  • Ensuring compliance with our contractual and regulatory requirements;
  • Reviewing data to set up new claims, appointing contractors and updating claims on internal systems;
  • Reviewing insurance policy wordings to establish if a claim is covered;
  • Managing and reviewing diaries in a timely manner;
  • Issuing payments to policyholders and suppliers for settlements;
  • Contributing to a happy team working environment
Skills & Experience:
  • A professional and adaptable communication styleboth written and verbal;
  • Efficient administrative skills;
  • Strong numeracy, literacy, and IT skills;
  • A proactive attitude, and an enthusiastic approach
  • Polite a courteous phone manner
