Bank Cover Supervisor

Start: ASAP or January 2023

08:45am to 3:05pm with a 30-minute break

A large secondary school based in Darwen are recruiting for a bank of Cover Supervisors to work in their school on a flexible basis. The school are seeking to employ a dynamic, highly motivated, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to join their support teamto supervise classes during the short-term absence of a class teacher.The role would be well suited to an individual who has previous experience of working with young people within an education or similar capacity. It would also be a fantastic opportunity for someone who wishes to gain more experience before starting on theirinitial teacher training. The opportunity is a great one for development offering to support your continual professional development and wellbeing.As a Bank Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the classroom in the usual teachers absence. The usual class teacher will provide all the materials and tools needed for the lesson ready for the you to deliver. As a bank member of staff,you will be called upon on an ad hoc basis to cover as and when needs arise.The successful candidate will:

Be professional and personable
Be punctual, reliable, and adaptable
Not be afraid of hard work
Enjoy working with young people and able to build rapport with all types of learners
Have a firm but sympathetic manner, with a good sense of humour
Have a good standard of education (to NVQ 2/GCSE and preferably A Level standard) and sound literacy and numeracy skills
Be willing to undertake training and develop their skills
