Assistant UnderwriterUp to £28000/annumLow Moor - BradfordSayjo Recruitment Ltd are acting on behalf of a client to recruit a full time AssistantUnderwriter. To work for a business that provides landlord insurance which is their own scheme underwritten by a large firm that gives the delegated authority. They are looking for someone to assess commercial risksin line with underwriting guidelines to retain and win Property Owners business to help their busy, growing company.Role:Provide quality underwriting solutions to brokersNegotiate with brokers, assessing risk information to effectively underwrite risksAssist brokers with resultant enquiries following placementProviding brokers with any updates promptly regarding casesPreparation and issue of documentation in a timely mannerEnsure bordereaux is kept up to date and issued to insurer at appropriate intervalsAccurate and detailed records kept of policies underwritten and decisions madeMaintaining relationships with brokersLiaising with insurer to challenge standard underwriting authority per the UnderwritingGuideline to refer to insurers for ratings for non-standard businessRequirements:Self-motivatedAccuracy and attention to detail essentialMinimum 2 years underwriting experience, ideally on Delegated Authority scheme in Broker officeWorking knowledge of Acturis preferred but not essentialExcellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite productsGood at managing own workload and collaborating as part of a teamAn analytical, careful nature with attention to detail and problem-solving abilitiesMaintaining a sound and thorough knowledge of the Property Owners Delegated AuthorityScheme, on behalf of the capacity providerExperience of working under pressure within a demanding environmentA confident, personable character with the ability to ask probing questions and challengeinformationOffice hours - Mon to Fri, can be a hybrid role with 3 days in the office and 2 days from homeUp to 27 days holiday plus statutory bank holidaysIf you have the experience we are looking for, please apply with a CV and well be in touch to discuss the opportunity in more detail.
