Job Description

Paralegal - Complex Credit Hire TeamJob Purpose Undertake a variety of data gathering and information recording activities, on behalf of a File Handler, to facilitate the rapid settlement of cases and the closure of files.Key Accountabilities

  • Acknowledging instructions, initially liaising with clients and other parties.
  • Drafting appropriate documentation.
  • Serving appropriate documentation upon any third parties where applicable.
  • Liaise with the Insurer client regarding liability and chase accordingly to expedite settlement or repudiation.
  • Obtain additional information and/or documentation from the insurer client and/or third parties to facilitate File Handler negotiations.
  • Follow up on outstanding instructions and other actions to ensure that responses are received within required timescales.
  • Obtaining additional information and/or documentation as required from parties.
  • To provide general assistance and ad hoc duties to support the File Handler as and when required.
  • To ensure all case management and matter information is inputted on to the system in a timely and accurate manner to ensure completeness of records and to ensure accurate reporting of information to our clients.
  • To ensure compliance with the SRA Standards & Regulations
  • Adhere to the Keoghs Values
Working Hours 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. This is a hybrid role working 1 day in the Bolton office and 4 days from home.Essential Skills and Attributes:
  • Strong organisational skills, together with the ability to prioritise their workload.
  • Able to effectively work to set deadlines.
  • Demonstrable experience of ;
  • Following a semi-prescribed programme of work.
  • Dealing with calls and enquiries from customers, suppliers and/or the public.
  • Gathering and recording information.
  • IT Literate.
  • Proficient in MS Office (notably Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Experience of using a Claims/Case Management system.
  • Proficient in the use of alpha numerical filing systems.
  • GCSE grade A-C in Maths and English.
