Job Description

Keoghs is looking to appoint an experienced legal cashier to lead and develop their busy legal Cashier Team.Compensation packageHyrbrid working 1 day in the office, 4 days remote,Health Care Cash Plan, Holidays 25 days plus 8 bank holidays (opportunity to buy & sell 3 days) increasing to 26 after 5 years’ service and to 27 after 10 years’ service, Death In Service - after 1 year,Employer Pension Contribution, Cycle to Work Scheme, Tech Scheme, Season Ticket Loan*, Gym FlexKey AccountabilitiesTo ensure processes are in place to enable the legal cashiering team to efficiently comply with SRA Standards & Regulations. To continually review these processes and identify and implement improvements.Fulfilling core roles of Legal Cashier transactional processing including:

  • To manage and motivate the Legal Cashiers team and to assign them clear objectives and perform regular reviews against them
  • Organise team meetings encourage engagement and collaboration between colleague’s
  • To review the various roles within the team and to ensure there is cover for all areas and that all team members are offered support to develop their roles
  • To assess the structure of the team and make proposals to change where appropriate
  • Ensure regular monitoring and reporting of all finance balances credit balances, client balances and out of office payment requests
  • To maintain/review the internal breach register and ensure that any breaches are documented and investigated thoroughly
  • Implement training and process review where required
  • Keeping Head of operational finance / COFA updated and well informed
  • To be one of the main points of contact for the external SAR audit for the LLP and Keoghs NI which will involve site visit to our Belfast office
  • Provide all requested information and answer the resulting queries
  • Work alongside Head of Finance and other team managers within finance to be part of our exciting journey to replace our existing finance system from the start
  • Assist when required with future integration of new clients and acquisitions.
Working Hours35 hours per week, Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. Primary location for this role is Bolton Parklands. Hybrid role with flexible working, will be required to be office based as often as the role demands average 3 days per weekEssential Skills and Attributes:Essential: Track record of working in a high volume business in a Legal Cashier role. Experience of working directly with auditors and ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules. Team player with proven leadership skills and experience of managing a team. Ability to work under pressure, excellent time management skills and ability to meet agreed deadlinesAn innovative approach to work and a willingness to recommend and implement improvementsRequired Soft Skills:Customer Service - Ability to manage a high volume workload and demonstrate proactivity and initiative whilst delivering a first class customer experience.
