Job Description

Do you have previous case, claim or file handling experience in a legal setting but looking for a change Here at Keoghs we have job opportunities in our pre-litigated credit hire department for those with prior handling experience but not necessarily in credit hire (we will provide all the knowledge you need on this).We offer flexibility on location / working from home etc so dont let location be a deciding factor, please make an application and speak to us in the first instance.Accountabilities:The role will require the file handler to pursue settlement of a pre-litigation credit hire file as soon as practically possible, ensuring Client Guidelines are adhered to.Main accountabilities of the role will be:

  • Reviewing pre proceedings files, noting and abiding by Client Guidelines
  • Formulating initial Strategy
  • Implementing the Strategy agreed
  • Undertaking telephone negotiations with Credit Hire Organisations
  • Pursuing settlement as quickly as possible
  • Liaising with Insurers where necessary
  • Ensuring actions’ are carried out as per Action Lists in Case Management System
  • Ensuring files are kept within ISO 9001 guidelines
  • To ensure compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct 2019
  • Adhere to the Keoghs Values
  • Prior knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Experience in a similar legal role i.e. file handling but not necessarily credit hire
  • Drive & desire to want to learn and progress
  • Education - at least 3 GCSEs or equivalent are essential and a degree is preferable.
  • Ability to use own initiative.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workloads.
  • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
  • Good telephone negotiation skills.
  • Ability to follow work processes and keep to Strategy.
  • Ability to recognise when sensitivity and tact are required.
  • Ability to make decisions.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Good IT skills including Word, Outlook, and experience of a Case Management System preferred.
  • Technical knowledge to be developed:
  • Understanding of Pre Proceedings Credit Hire
  • The life cycle of a file
