Job Description

Our client is a leading employer based in Long Stratton. Due to expansion they require two Gardeners on a temporary basis for up to six months.

  • Hours are currently 44 hours per week (Mon to Thurs 7.30am to 5.00pm and Fri 7.30am to 4.00pm)
  • Pay £10 per hour.
  • The roles are based from Long Stratton, and working throughout South Norfolk and the surrounding area
Role:
  • Maintain all grassed areas, hedges, and shrub beds to the recognised standard using powered hand tools and ride-on mowers.
  • Undertake plant protection product application, garden clearances, watercourse management and equipment maintenance as required.
  • Liaise with the Senior Grounds Maintenance Operative to ensure work schedules are up to date and adjusted accordingly.
  • Responsible for all equipment provided including vehicle, tools and materials, ensuring they are used, maintained, and stored correctly
Desired Experience (not essential):
  • Relevant experience and knowledge in all types of grounds maintenance (green space) work.
  • Relevant experience of working with powered hand tools (Brush cutters, hedge cutters, blowers) and ride-on mowers
  • Experience of working in extreme temperatures and conditions due to seasonal weather conditions.
  • A recognised Horticultural qualification level 2 or 3 (City and Guilds) or equivalent.
  • Holds a Front Loader qualification and NPTC Units NPTC PA1 + PA6, would advantageous.
  • Able to work as part of a team and also able to work independently without the need for close supervision.
  • Excellent time management skills, including an ability to prioritise workload and meet agreed deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, possessing the ability to liaise with various audiences.
  • Ability to use a mobile device (mobile phone/tablet) to manage workload, send and receive emails, access apps and MS Teams for meetings / training.
