Teaching Assistant

Location: North Cardiff
Start Date: September 2024
Pay Rate: £12.82 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Term Time Only

Reed is currentlyworking with a trauma informed school based in the North Cardiff, supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs.The schoolis looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support theKS3-KS4 provision.This role is a chance to make a significant difference in the lives of students who need additional care and support. Engage with students who have experienced challenging behaviour, mental health issues, and trauma, providing them with the necessary support.
Implement effective behaviour management strategies to foster a conducive learning environment.
Assist with academic tasks under the guidance of the classroom teacher to support students’ learning.
Offer emotional support and be a consistent presence in the students’ school life.
Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to plan and coordinate student activities.
Participate in professional development sessions to enhance your ability to support the students’ needs.
Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality regarding student information.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Experience in handling challenging behaviour and supporting children with special educational needs is highly valued.
A commitment to the welfare and education of children.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with staff at all levels.
Willingness to engage in ongoing training and professional development.
Must pass an enhanced DBS check.
