Job Description

Head of Corporate Governance & LegalHousing AssociationAbout The Client:Castlefield Recruitment are working with a Merseyside based housing association who are looking to appoint a Head of Corporate Governance & Legalon a permanent basis.Head of Corporate Governance & LegalHousing AssociationAbout The Role:

  • As Company Secretary you will facilitate excellent governance procedures ensuring the organisation operates within its corporate governance structure, relevant statutory legislation, regulatory requirements and codes of practice
  • You will provide oversight across all legal agreements and will undertake a comprehensive review of the organisations legal documents, liaising with external providers to ensure that documentation remains fit for purpose where operational templates areutilised within teams
  • Where more complex legal arrangements are required, you will identify and liaise with external providers, as required, whilst seeking to develop expertise across the organisation
  • You will be tasked with developing, modernising and implementing effective processes and procedures, utilising the latest technology, to manage all corporate governance and legal services across the organisation
  • Your leadership will ensure that your function has a reputation that goes wider than being a safe haven of governance, compliance and assurance, but also plays a positive, active role in the organisation
  • You will assist the Executive Director of Finance with constitutional governance and will be responsible for providing overall management, development and training of team members
Head of Corporate Governance & LegalHousing AssociationWhat You Need:
  • A qualified legal professional with significant knowledge and experience of the legal issues facing a Housing Association
  • An expert in governance and compliance requirements of a Housing Association or similar organisation including the Governance Framework of the Regulator of Social Housing
  • Self-driven, results orientated with a positive outlook and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to demonstrate highly developed attention to detail and able to understand, analyse and summarise complex legal information
  • A skilled communicator both verbally and in writing to be able to influence and engage with a wide range of stakeholders
