Job Description

We are looking for a Transport Assistant to help ensure safe and effective transportation of service users to and from our Linlithgow Campus. You will help ensure that the individualised needs of those travelling on Donaldsons transport are met, ensuringtheir dignity, protection and welfare are maintained at all times.JOB DESCRIPTION- Ensure safe and effective transportation of service users when travelling to and from Donaldsons Trust.- Support facilities and service teams to ensure requests for transport support are provided in a highly professional and customer led manner- Help to ensure that the individualised needs of all those who access our services are met through demonstrating:

  • understanding of safeguarding and user requirements
  • working flexibly and in line with customer and Trust requirements
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport and provide escort duties for service users travelling on Donaldsons Transport.Ensure the dignity, protection and welfare of those who use our services is maintained at all times.Assess risks and actively safeguard the health and safety of those who use transport services.Provide a high level of support and supervision to service users at all times.Effective communication between transport, services and parents/carers.Maintain confidentiality at all times.Ensure that any health and safety, safeguarding, incident and accidents and near misses are reported through the Trusts reporting processes.Proactively engage in all improvement initiatives to make the service provided safer and a more enjoyable user experience.Undertake driving duties on occasion, e.g. to cover the drivers annual leave.Any other tasks required by post as delegated by the Facilities Manager.BehavioursBe a role model for colleagues and stakeholders, showing energy, determination, flexibility and positive personal leadership that will support our aims of being relevant, vibrant, agile and sustainable.Adopt a flexible personal leadership style with the ability to challenge as appropriate and the ability to give, receive and act on constructive feedbackTake personal responsibility for achieving high performance in your role, by being open to learning new skills, receptive to coaching and mentoring, embracing opportunities for innovation and growth and focussing on solutionsContinuously monitor your area of responsibility and identify areas for improvement and organisational learningThe Values Donaldsons live byIndividual capabilityEveryone has their individual capabilities; we find them. Two shift patterns are available (please specify in your application form which shift pattern youre interested in):Option 1: Split shifts: approximately 7.30am - 9am and 3.30pm - 5pm Monday to Thursday, 7.30am - 9am and 12.30pm - 2pm on Fridays; 15 hours per weekOption 2: Afternoons only: approximately 3.30pm - 6pm Monday to Thursday, and approximately 12.30pm - 2.30pm on Fridays, 12 hours per weekRate of pay: £9.90 per hourThe post is subject to PVG Scheme Record/Update for regulated work with children and adults.
