Job Description

This is a hybrid role where the ideal candidate will have worked with Tools from an Ops or Development perspective.You will still code and build out new tools or features but your also responsible for the tools, supporting, customising, best practice CI, manage builds.What is in it for you:

  • o If you are in a Ops role working on build & pipeline and / or tools and can code in Java or Python but want more development experience then this is a great role for youo If you are an early career Developer whose created Tools and / or environments but hungers for a more diverse role and has an interest in owning an area, leading on Tools then this is a perfect role for youo If you already have a similar diverse role, love the varity and do not want to loose that in your move then this is the role for youYou:
  • Have likely come from a product based company background either working on supporting that product or developing tools for that product
  • Will have a background in Tools Engineering and / or Build & Pipeline Engineering (Ops or Development background considered if you also have the below)
  • Must be able to code in either Java or Python or both
  • Have built tools in the past or are confident you can build them based on your experience supporting tools combined with your strong coding skills
  • Must be able to Script (any scripting language is fine)
  • Will be managing Build Engineering and Pipeline Engineering so experience of this welcomed, as a minimum you must understand best practice CI and have used Jenkins
  • Can customise tools and bonus if you have customised cloud based tools
  • Additionally:
  • If you are from a Development background you are not precious about supporting the Tools you develop
  • If you are from an Ops background you have demonstrable experience of coding in Java or Python ( in your role or on Github or in a return to accademia after a career in Ops etc. )
  • A bonus if you have an interest in R&D, pushing boundaries, being on the bleeding edge interest you
  • A bonus if you have configuring Windows batch files
  • A bonus if you understand Networking
