Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and solutions-focussed individual to join our team as a Facilities & Transport Technician. Reporting directly to the Facilities Manager, you will be instrumental in the smooth delivery of maintenance, repair, transport and caretakingduties in line with current health & safety legislation and Trust policies.This post is full time, 37.5 hours per week on a three week rotational shift pattern.£21,536.44 per annumThis post is subject to PVG Scheme Record/Update for regulated work with children and adults.JOB DESCRIPTIONJob PurposeReporting directly to the Facilities Manager, the role will provide an effective maintenance, repair, transport and caretaking service across all areas of the Trusts estate to ensure the safety and comfort of all users and promote a positive impressionof the Trust. The role will work to a flexible rota in order to meet operational requirements. The role will always work in accordance with health and safety legislation and organisational policies and in a way that minimises both risk to others and disruptionto services.Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance, Repair and Compliance:
    • Ensure the premises are always maintained to the highest standards, both internally and externally, in accordance with procedures and legislative requirements.
    • Maintain planned preventative maintenance for all services and report breakdowns, significant problems, repair requirements, delays or machine down time to relevant personnel.
    • Undertake minor mechanical and electrical repairs and testing within the scope of your competence and following all Safe Systems of Work. Conduct statutory testing and compliance checks of electrical and mechanical fixed and portable installations, buildingfabric, and water systems.
  • Facilities:
    • Carry out duties to meet the needs of the Trust.
    • Liaise with customers and suppliers as necessary.
    • Deal with requests from contractors and external organisations relating to the estate and accompanying/assisting contractors whilst on site.
    • Review and monitor stock.
  • Swimming Pool
    • Contribute to the safe management of the pool by conducting tests and checks and maintenance in line with the Pool Safety Operating Procedure.
  • Security
    • Ensure familiarity with the buildings alarm and access control system to ensure the safety of the building, alarm systems and identify and report security breaches/concerns to the facilities manager.
  • Transport
    • Undertake daily driving duties and vehicle inspections to meet the needs of services and visitors as directed by the Facilities Manager
  • Health and Safety:
    • Supporting own health and safety in the workplace and that of internal and external customers by:
      • Working safely to comply with organisational policy and legislations.
      • Undertaking necessary training to meet organisational and legislative requirements.
      • Reporting Health and Safety concerns, system failure to facilities manager.
      • Adhering to risk assessments and safety instructions/guidelines
      • Complying with the Trusts procedures on Lone Working

  • Attending First Aid training as a designated First Aider for the Trust

  • Carrying out any other duties as reasonably directed by the Facilities Manager and the Senior Leadership Team
