Its what makes Ambrosia special.We are looking for our next Site Utilities Manager to join our team here in Lifton. This role is vital to the effective running of our plant, overseeing the smooth running and supply of energy, water, compressed air, chiller plant and effluent treatmentto our 24/7 operation.Leading the Utilities team, you will set the site energy strategy, ensure there is an effective maintenance plan in place to ensure reliability of assets and play a major part in progressive engineering and environmental projects connected to your area ofexpertise and remit. Responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and organisation of the companys site utilities, youll play an integral part to the operational infrastructure of Ambrosia.Were looking for someone who can

  • Take ownership, ensuring standards and procedures are in place, up to date and adhered to, guiding all engineering activities including safe working practices, GMP standards, management of contractors and planned maintenance work.
  • Communicate effectively with all teams to ensure daily and weekly priorities are clear and that issues resolved, preventing downtime, loss, and cost, ensuring that any unsolved problems are communicated or escalated.
  • Lead the team of engineers and operators, ensuring they are delivering services to the required standards. Put in place development and succession plans that support progression and tackle underperformance promptly. Develop, implement, and manage all relevantbudgets.
  • Direct, coordinate and plan essential services such as maintenance, cleaning, waste disposal and recycling. Be proactive in developing plans that meet and succeed environmental and quality targets.
  • Provide general support to the wider team to include projects, strategic planning and risk management.
  • Ensure buildings meet health and safety requirements and that facilities comply with all relevant legislation. Ensure employee compliance with legislation in respect of Safety, Quality and Environment. Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace.
  • With the site management team, ensure that the productive capability of the plant is optimised and improved for the needs of the business, this includes the provision and use of utilities (Steam, water, electricity, compressed air, effluent treatment, andsite chillers).
About you
  • Provide effective and supportive people management and supervision and have excellent communication skills
  • Have and be able to demonstrate operational experience exercising cost management and control
  • Identify and drive operational efficiency
  • Possess good organisation and project management skills
  • Be a strong communicator and be able to build long lasting relationships with all stakeholders
  • Be used to working independently with minimum supervision whilst also being an extremely effective team player
  • Have a good understanding of industrial boiler operations, along with knowledge of effluent plant operations
  • Have proven experience of Continuous Improvement or Lean Management
  • Be proficient in MS Office
