Job Description

Do you want to work in a meaningful role with an opportunity for career progression and personal development I have an amazing opportunity for a DEDICATED and PASSIONATE Childrens Residential Support Worker to join a Childrens Residential service in Leek, Staffordshire. You will be Supporting young people between the ages of 9-19 with Learning/Physical disabilities,complex health needs and autism.Overview:

  • Title: Childrens Residential Support Worker
  • Salary: £21,000 - £22,500 (depending on qualifications) PLUS plenty of overtime available!
  • Location: Leek, Staffordshire
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Hours: Full Time

The role: What you will be doing as a Childrens Residential Support Worker:
  • To ensure that the children are safe and protect them from risks to their health and welfare
  • All aspects of care including personal care
  • To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
  • Keeping on top of household chores such as cleaning & doing laundry
  • To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the individuals care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
  • Supporting poor behaviour safely and sympathetically.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young peoples lives such as Psychologists.
The successful candidate: What you will need to be a successful Childrens Residential Support Worker
  • You MUST be willing to carry out personal care duties
  • Ideally be a driver as you will be required to transport the young people from time to time
  • You MUST be an empathetic and relatable person, have good listening and communication skills, and a natural instinct to help others
  • You MUST be able to commute to Leek
