Job Description

Opportunity for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a growing business based in Leek. The role will pay a salary up to £23,000 depending on experienceClient DetailsPage Personnel are working with a highly successful and diverse business. Due to the growth of the team, they are looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join them.DescriptionWith the full support of the companys financial accountant, this role will involve owning the accounts payable function on behalf of the business.Purchase Ledger Clerk responsibilities include:

  • General maintenance of the purchase ledger
  • Accurate posting of supplier payments and proactive approach to resolving discrepancies.
  • Create supplier payment runs on the system in line with the cash forecast
  • Raise payments for authorisation via online banking.
  • Maintaining controls put in place to avoid over-payment for goods received
  • Monitor goods received not invoiced to ensure all invoices are input in a timely fashion
  • Run a month end report for the financial accountant.
  • Petty cash and cheque book governance, ensuring payments made are posted to the system accurately.
ProfileThe candidate will have:
  • Excellent time management, organisational and planning skills - Essential
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and familiar with use of an accounting software - Essential
  • Approachable, confident communicator with a good team ethic - Essential
  • Purchase ledger experience within a similar role - Desirable
  • Ability to use initiative to improve processes and solve problems - Desirable
  • Educated to A-Level or equivalent - Desirable
