Job Description

Credit ControllerAre you an experienced Credit Controller or Accounts Receivable ClerkIronMarket Talent are partnering within a successful family run manufacturing and distribution business in the heart of the Staffordshire Moorlands who supply their specialist products across the UK. The business is well known within their field of expertiseand are seeking a Credit Controller to become a key part of their Finance team.Reporting into the Financial Controller you will be tasked primarily with the credit control and debt collection for the business, whilst providing additional support with other finance related tasks. In this role, its crucial to be able to communicateclearly with both customers and internal stakeholders, alongside having great attention to detail and a proactive and organised approach to your workload.This business offers you the opportunity to adjust your start and finish times to support a better work/life balance.Main responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Actively chase debts to ensure that monies owed are received by the due dates and that monthly cash collection targets are achieved.
  • General maintenance of the sales ledger including accurate website and customer payment allocation, and invoice query resolution.
  • Routine credit control administrative tasks such as filing of documents, taking card payments from customers, issuing copy invoices and statements upon request.
  • Recognise potential bad debt risk early and escalate as appropriate.
  • Verify new customer accounts to ensure completeness of required information, effective credit limits set and adhered to.
Experience Required
  • Previous experience in a similar credit control/accounts receivable role
  • Strong Excel user
  • Ideally you will have experience using Efacs, although this is not essential.
  • Proven experience improving processes and solving problems.
