As a Barclays Software Engineer you will contribute to the system engineering activity and be responsible for changes to multiple applications & products across the end-to-end software development lifecycle including running of systems. You will maintaina technical understanding of multiple applications, providing support for technical queries, live incidents and issues. What will you be doing You will be undertaking impact assessments, including estimates for change requests against applications within the domain Solving software related problems, providing analysis and recommendations as appropriate Reviewing business requirements to understand how system requirements fit within the overall business solution Understanding technical constraints of live environment / architecture, supporting business colleagues in understanding any requirement versus cost trade-offs Delivering all software engineering quality standards / benchmarks as used for Multi-Channel Applications within Barclays UK Reviewing component designs to ensure compatibility with the end-to-end system design Reviewing test strategies to guarantee the quality of the delivered system, assisting in the diagnosis of system problems encountered during testing Participating in technical implementation planning, ensuring that the integrity of live operations is maintained What were looking for: Software development consisting of the following languages and technologies: Java /J2EE including Spring MVC, Spring Boot Good knowledge of JQuery, HTML5, CSS3 and HTTP Single page application development, ReactJs preferred J2EE frameworks, such as Spring (MVC, Web services) and Hibernate Skills that will help you in the role: Relational Databases such as Oracle / DB2 / SQLServer Knowledge of automated testing, continuous integration and deployment tools and practices Digital UX / UI design and implementation, specifically in rich internet/mobile applications Knowledge of automated testing, continuous integration and deployment tools and practices Where will you be workingYou will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford.
