Job Description

Project Engineer with experience of working in a similar role and managing projects and working to milestones/gates, qualified to minimum HNC level in an Engineering discipline, or have completed a recognised apprenticeship in a relevantdiscipline is required for well-established company based in Knutsford, Cheshire.SALARY: £45,000 per annum + Benefits (see below)LOCATION: Knutsford, Cheshire, North West EnglandJOB TYPE: Full-Time, PermanentWORKING HOURS: 8.00am - 4.30pm Monday - FridayPLEASE NOTE:To be considered for this role you will need a Full UK driving licence as there will be the occasional need to travel to customer sites which could be anywhere in the UK.JOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Project Engineerwith experience of working in a similar role and managing projects and working to milestones/gates, qualified to minimum HNC level in an Engineering discipline, or have completed a recognisedapprenticeship in a relevant discipline.As the Project Engineer you will report directly into the Project Manager. You will ensure that Customers’ expectations are clearly and consistently communicated to the business, and that colleagues are clear on the technical elements of a project so agreedrequirements are delivered to planned timescales.Working as the Project Engineer you will also be responsible for the timely and accurate completion of specifications for volumetric and heat sealing machines, and tools, and for the testing and validation of equipment against these documents. Throughoutthe project you will maintain customer contact to ensure customer satisfaction during the installation and commissioning phase, providing updates on completion targets.APPLY TODAYIf this job looks like your ideal position, then please send in your CV as soon as possible for our Recruitment Team to review.DUTIESYour duties as the Project Engineer include:

  • Manage projects for the full range of machines and tools offered
  • Attend tech team meetings for non-standard machinery enquiries, and complete any actions allocated. This may include creating drawings, and attending meetings or site visits with the relevant Sales Engineer
  • Upon receipt of order, attend customer site to clarify customer requirements. Where necessary make modifications to proposal and provide the details to the Sales Engineer sop that any changes can be quoted for accordingly
  • Ensure that a detailed handover is carried out with the wider business in line with SOP for this process
  • Liaise with Seal Technologist to ensure that all seal and filling trials are completed
  • Ensure that Machine Specification and machine/line drawing are signed off by the customer
  • Produce a Gantt Chart for the project, incorporating key milestones and the agreed delivery date
  • Ensure that the progress of the order through the factory is maintained reporting achievement of gate dates, in line with the SOP
  • Keep customer informed at relevant stages of the machine build
  • Upon completion of machine build assist in a full internal PDI to confirm the customer’s specification has been adhered to, and target speeds and sealing criteria can be achieved
  • Report PDI findings to Assembly Team Leader(s), Design and Systems departments
  • Prepare and complete all documentation necessary for machine installation and commissioning at customer site
  • If required, attend customer site to oversee the installation of machine
  • If required, oversee production to ensure that the machine functions to customer’s requirements
  • Maintain customer contact to ensure customer satisfaction during the installation and commissioning phase
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Qualified to minimum HNC level (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline, or have completed a recognised apprenticeship in a relevant discipline
  • Experience working in a similar role managing projects and working to milestones/gates
  • AutoCAD 2D (software)
  • Computer literate - Microsoft Office suite
  • H&S awareness (for site works) and experience of writing risk assessments
  • Experienced in dealing with customers face to face, on their sites
  • Able to travel at short notice and be away from home from time to time
  • Willingness to work on-site’ to support customers, and equipment installations, where knowledge and expertise requires it
  • Able to lift and carry loads, and to push/pull loads without risk of physical injury, in line with site manual handling guidelines
  • Full UK driving licence
