Job Description

You have the power to shape your role and we cannot wait to see where you take us and well take pride in supporting the future you chose to build at Surface Transforms.We are looking to expand our Maintenance departmentby adding additional Maintenance Engineers to the team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for maintenance throughout the plant in all areas such as manufacturing equipment, facilities,installation, and services of new machines. You will be accountable for an efficient and effective application of the preventative maintenance schedule, including traceability of all work within existing systems. The role will require excellent problem-solvingskills with a multidisciplinary engineering approach in both electrical and mechanical subjects.What youll be doing as our Maintenance Engineer:

  • Preventative and reactive maintenance of a variety of manufacturing equipment including Furnaces, CNC machining centres, Pumps, cooling farms, grinders, ovens, refrigeration plant, burners, etc.
  • Preventative and reactive maintenance of a variety of equipment systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, vacuum, HVAC etc.
  • Plan and prioritise workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time.
  • Implement preventative maintenance on all plant equipment, including the building (internal, external and security).
  • Responding to breakdowns at pace, identify fault and problem solve with minimal downtime to production.
  • Carry out breakdown root causes analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Reporting of equipment faults and concerns to management, including root cause analysis.
  • Responsible for all electrical work including lighting, installation & fault finding.
  • Work within 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain) methodology to maintain workplace to a high standard.
  • Ensuring that all electrical and P&ID drawings are up to date.
  • Comply with all H&S procedures, legislation and company policies.
  • Ensure all work is undertaken to a high-quality standard.
  • Working alongside Contractors as and when required.
  • Communicate effectively within all departments.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement throughout the Maintenance System.
The Skills, Knowledge and Experience you will need as our Maintenance Engineer:
  • You will hold at least a HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Need to have:
  • Transferrable skills to be able to work in a multidisciplinary manufacturing environment.
  • A delivery focus approach to work.
  • Understanding of PLCs, Variable drives, control, and instrumentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and on your own with minimum supervision.
  • A current drivers license and access to a car.
  • MS Office skills.
Nice to have:
  • Furnace/Oven maintenance experience.
  • Experience working with vacuum systems/industrial gases.
  • Forklift License.
  • Welding experience.
  • IPAF

Salary: £39,519.27 including shift allowance and annualised hoursHours: MondayFriday 6am2pm, 2pm10pm
