Job Description

This is a newly created role within the Quality Department reporting directly into the Health, Safety andEnvironmental Manager.What you will be doing

  • Monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations. Developing measures to assure personnel safety.
  • Correct unsafe acts or conditions through the regular line of authority.
  • The Safety Officer maintains awareness of active and developing situations.
  • Participate in toolbox and planning meetings to identify any health and safety concerns inherent in the operations daily work-plan.
  • Review the Incident Action Plan for safety implications.
  • Investigate accidents that have occurred within incident areas.
  • Ensure preparation and implementation of Site Safety and Health Plan.
  • Be part of the Safety Action Team and leads all efforts to enhance safety.
  • Reviews and approves all subcontractors safety plans.
  • Verifies that injury logs and reports are completed and submitted to related government agencies.
  • Verifies that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use.
  • Promotes and enforces safe practices and guidelines on site.
  • Conducts investigations of all accidents and near-misses and reports to concerned authorities as requested or mandated by regulations.
  • Conducts job hazard analysis.
  • Establishes safety standards and policies as needed.
  • Coordinates registration and removal of hazardous waste.
  • Arranges for OSHA mandated testing and/or evaluations of the workplace by external agencies/consultants.
  • Support the development of OHSE policies and programs.
  • Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.).
  • Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures.
  • Initiate and organize OHSE training of employees.
  • Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.
  • Carry out PTW Monitoring and review.
The Skills, Knowledge and Experience you will need to bring
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experienced in Microsoft programmes.
  • Committed to continuous professional development
  • Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to work with people at all levels of an organisation.
  • Experience working to delivery timescales and the confidence to challenge delays in process.
  • Confidence in ensuring compliance with regulatory servicing and inspection requirements.
  • Experience of conducting and reviewing risk assessments and audits.
  • Understanding of legal requirements.
  • Attention to detail and a persistent approach to following up enquiries.
  • Be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external clients.
  • The ability to manage time and prioritise.
Need to have:
  • IOSH/NEBOSH Certificate
  • 45001: Internal Auditor
  • 14001:2015 Internal Auditor
  • 2 Years Manufacturing experience
Desirable
  • NEBOSH Diploma or Certificate Level 3
  • 45001: Lead Auditor
  • 14001:2015 Lead Auditor
  • Degree or Postgraduate diploma recognised by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health
  • 5 years manufacturing experience
