The role of the Buyer is to support the MP&L Manager in owning and administering procurement of both direct and indirect materials, managing the agreed suppliers and sourcing newvendors and agreements.What youll be doing as our Buyer:

• Responsible for delivering compliant end- to-end procurement activity, implementing and managing supplier and member contracts and analysing statistical and financial information.
• Development of key relationships with suppliers and customers and the implementation and management of contracts, specifically focusing on commercial and customer benefits.
• Management and procurement of 20 suppliers, covering 50 SKUs and an annualized spend of circa £5m.
• Ability to develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of customer requirements from the outset and provide sourcing solutions to deliver cost effective supply.
• Offer regular input to the operation and commercial teams.
• Implement and manage individual Framework Strategies to assist in the achievement of financial performance and growth.
• Continually review the markets, undertake competitive analysis and research innovations in the materials consumed in the manufacturing and assembly process.
• Develop and maintain continuous engagement with suppliers, including delivery performance, management of projects with suppliers, leading on supplier review meetings and handling disputes.

The Skills, Knowledge and Experience you will need as our Buyer:

• Experience of multiple procurement activities including knowledge of EU Procurement regulations, Brexit implications etc.
• Experience in using ERP/MRP system to manager buy orders / purchase orders.
• Experience of managing procurement projects and contracts.
• Experienced in developing strong supplier and customer relationships.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Project Management.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Relevant commercial and sector focus.

Need to have:

• 3 years proven experience in a Buying role.

Nice to have:

• Education to degree level or equivalent experience preferred
• Associate of the CIPS is preferred but not a pre-requisite.
