Job Description

You have the power to shape your role and we cannot wait to see where you take us and well take pride in supporting the future you chose to build at Surface Transforms.We are currently looking for a driven and enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to contributeto the overall success of the organisation by joining ourfinance function, performinga wide range of duties .What youll be doing as our Accounts Assistant:Balance Sheet

  • To control the fixed asset ledger and ensure the accuracy and security of company assets.
  • To ensure the accurate accounting of provisions and balances within the balance sheet.
  • To ensure the completeness of the accounting records.
  • To ensure the accuracy of year end balances by ensuring the accuracy of stock checks.
  • Liaising with auditors to ensure the smooth delivery of year-end figures.
Profit and loss
  • Ensure that costs are correctly booked to the P&L in line with current accounting standards
  • Ensure that costs are allocated to the relevant cost centres to monitor financial performance
  • Posting prepayments, accruals and other necessary month end journals
  • Assistance with the production of management accounts and analysis of variance to budget
General
  • Managing the companies purchase order system IDocuments all the way through to matching invoices to POs and GRNs.
  • Assist the Finance Director in the good governance of the companys finances.
  • Maintaining finance inputs within SAP Business One
  • Accurate input and maintenance of Sales and of the Purchase ledger.
  • Identifying errors in financial reports and resolving the root cause of errors.
  • Ensuring expenditure is in line with budgets
  • Assisting with the annual budget process
  • General reporting on finances for monthly pack
  • Maintaining accurate reconciliations of all bank accounts
  • Maintaining accurate reconciliations of customer and supplier accounts
  • Any other duties as required.
The person specification for our Accounts Assistant:
  • The successful applicant will be highly motivated to develop their career in Accounting and Finance.
  • They will have a strong drive to pass exams and gain qualifications in Accountancy with a desire to use their knowledge and skills to take on more complex tasks.
  • They must be willing and able to take ownership of the tasks assigned to them
  • They must have initiative to make changes or improvements to tasks or processes where they see them.
  • They will have good communication and organization skills
  • They must be reliable with a desire to take on more responsibilities
Need to have:
  • Experience within a similar Finance role.
  • Desire to start or continue developingyour Finance qualifications.
