Bristol City Council are seeking a full time Occupational Therapist within the Specialist Childrens Disability Service£38ph UmbrellaThis is a full time role, initially a locum contract but with the possibility of becoming permanent .Primarily office based/ flexible working hours, need to be able to work late afternoons (after school)The role will be based at Knowle West Health Park. Downton Rd, BS4 1WHWe are a team of Occupational Therapists (OTs) and OT Aides who support disabled children / young people and their families by undertaking assessments in their own homes and other settings to enable them to be as independent as possible and reduce risks.The emphasis of the work is around the provision of equipment and adaptations. We provide equipment to assist with daily occupations e.g., bathing, and support carers with advice and equipment e.g., hoists to reduce moving and handling risks. We work closelywith Housing, advising on the suitability of properties before families are rehoused and making recommendations for adaptations to a childs home to meet their needs in line with Housing legislation and accessing Disabled Facilities Grants. We are increasinglyasked to advise on safety for children who have significant learning, behaviour, and communication needs.Experience in paediatrics is essentialYou need to be able to drive with access to your own vehicle, an enhanced DBS (we can help with this!) and a HCPC registrationGuidant Global is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
