Job Description

Automotive BuyerA new opportunity has arisen to join an experienced and supportive team as an Automotive Buyer. Your key responsibility will be to purchase stock that represents the company profile and manage stock control and stocking plans, meanwhile assisting the GeneralSales Manager in ensuring the business operates in a compliant manner.This is a full-time permanent position based in Knaresborough. Salary is £30,000 basic with an OTE of £50,000 p/a plus excellent benefits.Responsibilities:

  • Purchase Stock that represents the company profile
  • Represent the business at promotional events
  • Oversee the preparation required on vehicles coming into stock
  • Arrange the delivery / collection of new stock
  • Oversee and monitor stock levels, ensuring appropriate purchases in line with company standards
  • Ensure the correct documentation is provided
  • Source vehicles using various methods and channels
  • Monitor trends and demands within the market for specific makes and models of vehicles.
  • Create clear guidelines for assessing vehicles for part exchange
The ideal candidate will either be a competent buyer with experience of sourcing cars and buying mainly from the public, or a Sales Manager/Sales Executive with the right skillset and transferrable knowledge.Requirements:
  • Excellent understanding of the prestige motor trade
  • Previous experience of purchasing automotive stock.
  • High standard of verbal and written communication
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Customer comes first ethic
  • Strong IT skills
